Endodontic treatments like root canals allow us to save badly damaged teeth that might be causing severe pain or need to be extracted in the near future. A root canal is a comprehensive restoration that seals off the nerve chamber inside of the tooth, preventing reinfection.
Some of the reasons why Dr. Ally might need to treat a tooth with a root canal include:
- Abscessed Teeth
- Severe Pain and Swelling
- Large Fractures
- Deep Cavities
- History of Trauma to the Tooth
Root Canals in Silver Spring
We are pleased to share that the majority of all root canal procedures can be completed right here in our office by Dr. Ally. This prevents the need to refer our patients to a specialist across town, which would increase their cost of care. Dr. Ally has completed hundreds of root canals and is happy to provide this service to our patients.
Do Root Canals Hurt?
Surprisingly, root canals do not have to hurt. What usually causes pain is allowing the infection to worsen, or struggling to keep the mouth open for an extended period of time. Dr. Ally uses a soft prop to help your jaw relax, and will manage any underlying infections prior to the root canal being performed. That way all you will have to do is sit back, relax, and let us do the rest!
If you’ve been told that you need to have a root canal, call us for a free second opinion! New patients are always welcome. Se habla español.
We also offer expert laser dentistry services. Give us a call and ask about our shot-free fillings and soft-tissue therapy services.
